Elsa Recycling Group is a family run business specialising in the recycling of Cardboard based waste. Located in Greater Manchester 3 generations have been serving the North West for over 54 years.

As experts in the collection, sorting and grading of recovered Cardboard, we aim to help or customers effectively process their recovered Cardboard. We currently recycle over 700 tonnes per week of paper and Cardboard supplying mills in the UK, Europe and the Far East. The UK alone produces over 8 million tons of cardboard for packaging every year, which amounts to about 140 large cardboard boxes for everyone in the country, per year. Cardboard is usually the largest single constituent of municipal solid waste worldwide.

Cardboard is made from cellulose fibres that are created from wood pulp. To reverse this process, for the purpose of recycling, the cardboard is soaked and agitated, to release the fibres which can then be pulped. This process can be repeated up to 5 times before these fibres eventually shorten, and then disintegrate.
